The CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Learning and Development is aimed at existing and aspiring L&D Managers and will help you develop an understanding of how L&D contributes to business success.

Who is CIPD Level 5 for?
The diploma programme in CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Learning and Development is for you if you are:
Aspire to become a professional member of the CIPD, as an Associate member
Seek to enhance and develop your professional L&D knowledge after studying a CIPD Level 3 programme
Are contributing to L&D decision making at an operational or strategic level and seek to understand the role of L&D in the wider context.
Are an L&D professional in a team who has a responsibility for delivering learning solutions.
Are responsible for the L&D function and activities within an organisation without a specialist function.
The CIPD Intermediate DHRM is practical work based qualification that will enable you to:
Develop your understanding of and ability to apply HR concepts, theories and tools.
Extend your knowledge and skills in creating and implementing HR policies and procedures.
Widen your perspective of how HR fits into (and is impacted by) the wider organisational and environmental strategic context.
To enroll on this Intermediate Level L&D course, you should either:
Have some L&D experience, whether through working directly in L&D or through dealing with L&D as part of an HR or managerial role
Have a degree and want to start your learning at a higher level than Foundation Level 3
If English is your second language, we recommend you have IELTS 6.5/ESOL Level 2 or equivalent, but we’re happy to review your case on an individual basis.
You will be assessed via a range of methods include written assignments (business reports, work based project and reflective statements to support individual learning plans), presentations, role plays as well your contribution to online discussion forums.
The course and assignments are fully online. You'll study 7 units:
Developing Professional Practice
Understanding the Context of L&D
Using Information Metrics and Developing Business Cases for L&D
Implementing Coaching and Mentoring
Facilitating Collective and Social Learning
Developing Leadership and Management Skills
Managing the L&D Business Function
Please note that CIPD membership is paid directly to CIPD.
You will learn in dedicated classrooms delivered by lecturers with a broad range of industry expertise using the latest technologies.
The programme is developed to meet the needs of busy professionals and incorporates group work, case studies, and scenarios from current HR Practice with unlimited support via e-mail to your programme tutors.
The diploma program is a combination of classroom guided learning, online learning, and self-study. The students are working professionals so we have split the classroom days into manageable chunks. You will only need to take time off work for a few days at a time and there is also sufficient time in between the blocks (modules) to self-study and complete assignments.
Our programs are taught by practicing HR professionals and supported with creative and interesting learning materials. Therefore, our programs encourage collaboration, interaction, participation and the sharing of experiences with fellow students, whilst building a strong working relationship with our team.
The Diploma Qualification is delivered in 3 modules of 1 week each.
There is a period of 6-8 weeks between each module. This allows the student to return to their workplace, review their learning, and complete the required workbooks and assignments.
